Margaret Varnell Clark, MS, RN, RRT-NPSMargaret Varnell Clark, MS, RN, RRT-NPS, is an award-winning writer and medical editor. Ms. Clark was awarded the 2010/2011 D. Robert McCaffree, MD, Master FCCP Humanitarian Award given by the Chest Foundation, American College of Chest Physicians, for her work with inner city asthma patients. Clark is also the 1996 recipient of the Bird Lifetime Achievement Award given by the American Association of Respiratory Care for her extensive writing in Pulmonary Medicine. She was the Editorial Director for Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Medscape/WebMD from 2004 – 2009. Prior to this she was the Clinical Coordinator for Respiratory Care, Boston University/ Boston Medical Center in Massachusetts. Clark has been a field correspondent for Advance for Respiratory Care News Magazines since 1990. She is also known for her work with Reuter’s Health and PBS television. She has served on several boards/committees for the American College of Chest Physicians, and has worked/lectured extensively in the United Kingdom, Europe, and Central America.
