He also serves or has served on the editorial board of 21 medical journals. He speaks nationally and internationally on stroke and has delivered 18 named lectureships, including the 2000 Thomas Willis lecture for the American Heart Association. Dr.Caplan has received several teaching awards as well as the Distinguished Achievement Award from the American Heart Association.
